All went well, except it would not go to its normal 5,000 rpm-- would only go to 4,600 rpm. Its a 1995 200hp Yami outboard jet, 2 cyl. Been bullet proof to this point. I use e-free gas, always run marine Stabil year round Off load you can rev to 3100 rpm against book at 3000 rpm. Looks good. Under load, the engine max's at 2200 rpm [and presumably you reach a decent hull speed] The engine starts fine and doesn't smoke. Perhaps you're looking for a problem that isn't there? I really doubt anything with change 99.9% you are simply grossly over propped - ( 300+-ish) . #1-Get your tach checked for accuracy at 2600 RPM, engine warm, at the dock in neutral, and WRITE IT DOWN. #2——-Call Gary and get a copy of the SCAN, otherwise you will have to do it all over again.
