The White Rock Creek Trail is 17 miles long and extends from just south of Spring Valley Road to the north end of White Rock Lake Park.There are two separate sections of the trail to the north of the continuous section. White Rock Lake- This stunning lake, which is actually a reservoir and managed by PG&E, is a great starting point to reach Mnt. Lola from the west end, and hike for days on the Pacific Crest Trail. The name White Rock came from the abundant quartz rock found in the area. From Crabtree Falls in Nelson County, Route 56 west to the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Slacks Overlook (north of milepost 20). Park at the Slacks Overlook and the trail starts about 60 yards ahead on the east.

The trail jogs downhill slightly, crossing the creek on the pavement, before heading uphill again towards the upper trailhead. Carrick Creek Trail. 1.8 miles Easy to Moderate This is an easier hike than the other two and is well suited for those that want an easier walk. The hike begins behind the Nature Center.
